Unfinished Projects

The photographic series “Unfinished Projects” hints at the anxiety of change in daily life through images of unrealized projects. Inferring the myriad of sentiments associated to the incomplete task, each photograph reveals an unfinished project, situated somewhere between despair and promise, suspended in time, awaiting completion. Setting out to evoke and document the incomplete gesture, and to call to mind stymied plans and failed expectations, the photographs are themselves physical reminders of a project that remains with a person for years, sometimes even decades. They are images that highlight the commonplace; they reveal thwarted ambition and distraction—integral to the fabric of everyday life.
